As far as fishing goes, this place has inspired me to finally take up fly fishing. Whatever excites you from just relaxing on the grass, hiking into alpine lakes, horseback riding, mountain biking (our favorite is Pinyon Peak Lookout which is not for faint of heart but the views from 10,000ft are amazing) and of course world class fishing right out the door of the ranch. Third, tons of activities to keep you (and the kids) enjoying the massiveness and beauty of this part of Idaho. We met some wonderful people from different parts of the country and had a blast spending time with our new friends. Speaking of other guests, by the time you leave, you will have a whole new group of friends. You and the other guests are pretty much the only other people in the area chances are you will not see another person that is not from the ranch. Second, the Diamond D is a remote oasis at the end of a 20-mile rugged dirt road…no running into town for a latte here.

And of course, Kara, Dana, Linda, and the entire staff treat you like family the moment you arrive - Kara personally greets and welcomes you to the ranch the second you step out of your vehicle. I could sit for hours listening to Tom’s stories about how he and his father envisioned the ranch and then over all these years, along with his family, built it to what it is today. First and foremost, this is family owned and family run. Here are few things that really stand out for me that make this such a wonderful experience. Simply put, Diamond D Ranch is one of the most amazing and treasured places we’ve ever been.
